Why Pakistan Doesn’t Arrest Hafiz Saeed?
Pakistan has not arrested Saeed because the courts did not prove him guilty of anything. I don’t think 26/11 would ever be a reason for his conviction. What he does to innocent Pakistanis should be more of a concern.
There’s no reason why India would want him behind bars. From a geopolitical angle, Saeed is India’s greatest asset. The perfect bearded boogeyman with a prize on his head. Wanted by the US and the UN roaming scot-free in Lahore and enjoying state protection. There’s no better way India could showcase Pakistan’s complicity in spreading terror. Making its case stronger on every front. Besides keeping the nationalistic crackpots at home happy.
It might be true that the ISI is vetoing over his skin. But he’d soon turn into a liability for them. When & if he’s ever gunned down, it would be the ISI doing it, not the RAW. India has nothing to lose by keeping him alive at this point. Hafiz Muhammad Saeed Wiki.
