Hima Das (born January 9, 2000) is an Indian based Sprinter (Athlete) from Assam. Furthermore, she is the first woman in the Indian history to receive a gold medal in a global racing event. Hima Das Early Life

Hima Das was born in Nagaon in the Indian state of Assam. Her parents are Ronjit and Jomali Das, she is the youngest of six children. Das started off by playing football with boys in her school days, on the mud pits near her village school. With this win, Hima joined an elite club of Indian athletes who have won medals at the World U20 Championships. But she is the only runner in a hall of fame that has throwers like Seema Punia (bronze, discus), Navjeet Kaur Dhillon (bronze, discus) and Neeraj Chopra (gold, javelin). Hima started off with football, kicking the ball with boys in the mud pits next to the rice fields.
