A 45-year-old Bhojpuri film actress was killed when a car hit the motorcycle on which she was travelling here, police said. Superintendent of Police S P Ganguly said the incident took place at Chhitauni village on Friday when a car collided with a motorcycle.
“Manisha Rai, a Bhojpuri film, actor died on the spot,” she said. She was on her way to a nearby shooting site with her associate Sanjiv Mishra on the motorcycle, Ganguly said.
Mishra has also sustained injuries in the accident. The car driver fled from the spot after the incident and efforts are on to nab him, police said.
Manisha is known for playing the leade role in Ujjwal Pandey’s short film ‘Kohabar’.

As per a PTI report, the incident took place at Chhitauni village yesterday when a car collided with a motorcycle. “Manisha Rai, a Bhojpuri film actor died on the spot,” Police said.
The report further stated that Manisha was on her way to a nearby shooting site with her associate Sanjiv Mishra on the motorcycle when the car hit her. However, the car driver did not stop and fled from the spot.

While Rai is said to have died on the spot, Mishra sustained injuries. According to reports, the driver of the car fled the scene. Rai’s body has been sent for post-mortem. The Bhojpuri actress was featured in the short film, Khobar.Recently, two Marathi actors – Prarthana Behere and Aniket Vishwasrao – met with a road accident on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway in Maharashtra, when their car hit a divider.

TV serial actors Rachana (23) and Jeevan Suresh (25) died after their car rammed into a parked truck. Both the actors reportedly died on the spot.
